We know that when a child brushes their teeth in a nursery setting, supervised by nursery staff, it makes a big difference to the oral health of the child. This is why we have partnered with Community NHS teams to offer training for our local nurseries, to improve the oral health of children aged 3-4.
We also provide toothbrush and toothpaste packs to families for all their children between the ages of 0-16 at our outreach events, workshops, and at the clinic; as well as delivering approved oral health messages, tips, and links to services on our social media platforms.
In partnership with the BCHC Oral Health Improvement Team, we are also offering online oral health training for professionals, which is aimed at those working in Early Years or KS1 settings to share information on dental decay and prevention.
Our next training session is on Wednesday 29th January 10am-11am. Sign up HERE.
Lots of children experience accidents in the home, with many that can be avoided, ending up with long visits to A&E. We want to help families avoid this, so we share approved home safety messages and tips on our social media platforms.
In partnership with the Children Accident Prevention Trust, we are delivering home safety training designed to help social care, health and education staff to learn the most effective ways of engaging with families to prevent accidents in and around the home for babies and young children. The objective of the course is to equip professionals to address home safety issues with families they work with in an engaging and empowering way.
The next training session is on Tuesday 25th February between 1:30pm – 4pm. Please email scz@greensquareaccord.co.uk to book a place as there are limited spaces available.
